Decorating for the Holidays

Like every year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, we like to decorate our home for Christmas. This year we were kind of hesitant because our cats like to get into everything and we didn't know how to keep Elizabeth away for the tree. But...we decided to put up the anyway.

Randy put the tree and the lights up while I decorated.
Of course Elizabeth had to be Santa's little helper. She was enjoying everything going on around her.UNFORTUNATELY, the cat's had other plans in mind. It took them only two days to completely destroy the tree. Most of the ornaments are off now along with most of the branches. Needless to say, the tree will be packed up pretty soon.

Another Tooth!!!

UPDATE: 11/27/06
Elizabeth has 4 teeth now!!! Her top left tooth broke through today.

Elizabeth's top right tooth is here!!! I felt it when I checked her mouth today. She has a total of three teeth now. Maybe that's why she's been so cranky the past couple of days.

Standing on Her Own

I just got a call from my husband this morning. Our little Elizabeth has been very busy this morning. She was walking along some boxes we have in the living room and then all of a sudden she decided to push off from them to a standing position. Holy Cow!!!! She was standing on her own! Randy ran for the camera and got it powered up however, that's when she decided she was done standing. The little stinker!!! We have the camera close, so hopefully we'll get a picture of it soon.

The Highlight of My Day

Yesturday I get home from work to see my wonderful husband and daughter. I put my stuff up and came into the living room where they were playing. I called for Elizabeth and she turned around and had the biggest grin on her face. She then proceeded to crawl at lightning speed to where I was. I picked her up, and all of a sudden she gave me a kiss and hugged me. It melted my heart. She is such a sweetie. It was the highlight of my day.

First Night

Last night was Elizabeth's first night in her nursery. Randy camped out there just to make the transistion a little easier for her. Suprisingly she did very well. She did wake up every hours or so, however, all she needed was daddy to pat her on her back to let her know everything was ok and she fell right back to sleep. She didn't cry or anything. We are very pleased by the whole experience. Hopefully it will continue when Randy or I are not in the room.

7 Months Old!

This past month so many exciting things have happened. If you have read some of the previous posts, Elizabeth has two teeth now, she's walking along furniture like a pro and when Randy and I aren't looking, she'll occasionally climb over the barriers we have placed to keep her in a certain area. She's becoming a lot more courageous these days. She tries all the time to let go of furniture when she is standing. Her balance is still a little off so she still falls. However, it doesn't seem to phase her. She'll just get back up and do it again. She's our little miss independant. Several people predict she'll be walking very soon. We'll have to see.

Elizabeth is still growing fast. She's weighs 19lbs and is 28.75-29" tall. She's wearing 12 month clothing. The onsies are getting a little snug, especially if they shrank after being washed. However, I think the 12 month pants will fit for while or at least I hope they will. This time is going by too fast. I understand now when parents say children grow up so fast. I feel like I'm going to wake up tomorrow and she'll be 18 years old!!!

Climbing Over Boxes!!!

I was talking to Randy on the phone earlier today. He had put Elizabeth in the living room where there are boxes placed in various areas to keep her contained. He had left to go get something and when he got back Elizabeth was in the kitchen!!!! Holy Cow!!! How did she get over the boxes??? We couldn't believe it. She is just growing up too fast. I have a feeling she is going to be a handful when she learns how to walk.
